apologies for my absence from the blogosphere. i’ve been catching up on “life” making some real grown-up life-changing decisions, going on a yoga retreat and sunny turkey for the first time (thus pushing back the beginning of another cold, grim berlin winter), consciously abstaining from too much internet-wizardry, amongst many other things…

and while i am still busy catching up, here is one adorable movie i am still trying to catch in the theatre from even more adorable (girl crush!) miranda july. i am glad to know that july wasn’t her name by birth (it is actually grossinger), because ‘miranda july’ just sounds so epically amazing… yet another reminder that my parents – quite obviously – screwed up massively. i wish i had a fame name. though i guess it’s never too late to do the deed yourself.

anyways. a movie narrated by a cat named paw-paw with a broken paw by miranda july?! i am stunned. here is a really good nyt article about july to check out if you’re curious (as a cat).

Sagmeister does Happiness!

Well, “happiness” seems to have become a quite trendy and often-talked about subject of the now. I’ve read “The Happiness Project” amongst many other things about self-experimentation, changing habits, how to make yourself happy as a creative, etc. Shouldn’t I be just happy? As it seems, for some odd reason, I still need confirmation, guidance or else regarding reaching a certain degree of happiness in my own life. SO. Having said that, Stefan Sagmeister has dedicated some time to display self-experimentation in regards to his happiness:

The Happy Film takes a look at the strategies serious psychologists ‘recommend to improve one’s personal well-being and overall happiness. Questions such as ‘Is it possible to train our mind in the same way’ that we train our bodies?’ and ‘Can we change our behavior to make’us happier?’will be put to the test in this highly visual documentary.

Personally, I can’t wait to see this. I’m very glad to see that Hillman Curtis is also involved with this production. Now, let’s all be happy…
